With the increased possibility of an unforeseen event happening natural and man-made events create high concern, low trust situations that can become sensitive and/or controversial situations. The need for Public Utility personnel to be able to communicate to their customers, their community and the media, risk communication; a science-based approach, is a necessary skill. This course designed by the EPA’s Drinking Water Academy addresses such issues as source water concerns, regulatory decisions, crisis and emergency response and reduced customer confidence. How to establish a relationship with the media and when to deal with the media is also addressed.

Supplies, materials and lunch are included with your registration.
