JOB DESCRIPTION |
Perform and assist with daily operations, testing, and maintenance for 450,000 gallon/day biological nutrient reduction wastewater treatment plant and two small wastewater treatment plants, and related collection systems in the Fivepointville/Bowmansville, Pennsylvania area.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES |
Operation of portable and stationary pumps, collection of samples, process control analysis, recording and entry of data, plant washdowns, grounds maintenance, preventive maintenance, planned maintenance and emergency repairs. The position requires the employee to work one weekend and be on call 24 hours a day for one week every four weeks.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS |
Skills Beneficial to Position:
- Wastewater treatment plant operation and process control
- Knowledge of safety standards and procedures in a water treatment plant or industrial setting
- Experience with programmable logistic controls
- Ability to follow standard operation procedures and safety protocols
- Proficiency with hand and power tools
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as well as climb up/down ladders
- Experience using Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
- Skills relating to equipment maintenance (blowers, pumps, etc)
Required Licenses:
- Valid PA Driver’s License, Class C – Required
Optional Licenses/Certifications:
- PA Wastewater Systems Operator Certification of the appropriate class and subclass for the Authority’s Treatment Plant facilities. Currently Class C with Subclasses 1 and 4 (activated sludge and single entity collection system). We can provide instruction and training to employees that wish to obtain the appropriate licenses.
WORKING CONDITIONS |
Work is frequently performed alone and may be performed inside, around noisy equipment, or outdoors in a variety of weather conditions. Work is performed around a variety of potentially hazardous mechanical and electrical equipment
